Creative Care Packages To Send Your Long-distance Lover

By Zlata Faerman, LovingYou editor

Long-distance relationships can be hard. Really hard. You can become resentful of your partner for not being in close proximity to you and vice versa, which can really lead to some hurtful conversations and rash decisions of breakups. When you're in a long-distance relationship, you're hypersensitive to any PDA on the streets: hand-holding, kissing, couples on an obvious dinner date, etc.

For the couples who have no choice, or have the whole long-distance thing down pat, kudos to you. As someone who has had both positive and negative experiences with relationships that span great distances, I can tell you that sometimes, the buildup of seeing each other with a countdown of the days, can ultimately lead to a rush of adrenaline (and the best feeling ever!) when you finally do see each other.

During your time apart, thanks to the latest in technology, there are certainly ways to stay more connected than ever. But what about a simple little 'thinking of you' care package? Everyone loves getting mail. It's just what's inside the package that counts:

1. Sexy shots

Boudoir photo book: What better gift to send your yearning man than a photo shoot of yourself in your sexiest lingerie? Get creative with your outfits, wear one of his shirts and ties, or simply wear nothing but pearls. Want to save money? Have your best friend take the photos and order the book yourself on Kodakgallery or Snapfish! This book will be the best one your beau ever 'reads'!

2. Easy online shopping

Want something generic? Visit Buy.com for thousands of high quality goods to choose from. From movies like The Notebook to gift baskets filled with your beau's favorite tasty treats, you'll definitely be able to find something! The website offers one to two day delivery times and free shipping on most products.

3. Tasty treats

Have a loved one in the United States service? Those care packages can have more of a taste of home. Send photo collages of yourself, the kids, etc. You can also send candy, snacks, Kindles and any other comforts of home that your beau would appreciate.

4. Claim your man

Feeling frisky? The House of Bachelorette features a foreplay football game that would go perfectly with a pair of football tickets you can surprise him with! How about claiming stake in your man? Send him a personalized keychain to let everyone else know he's YOURS!

5. Writing from afar

One of my favorite options to keep your love going strong and do it together is something called The Traveling Journal. Couples can use it to share everything but a zip code -- including photos, love letters and memories. One person fills a few pages with notes and memories, and then passes it on to the other person. As it continues to travel, it becomes more and more valuable as a record of your relationship.
