Believe it or not, this summer heat and heavy humidity will break soon enough, leaving us with sweater weather, hot (never iced!) coffee and, of course, our favorite fall jackets. But before you clear out your sundresses in favor of riding boots, take note of these four trends that are sure to be defining this upcoming autumn season! By Maura Brannigan.
1. Leather Everything
Take a cue from your favorite rock star or the stereotypical biker gang for this trend. To rock it, think beyond the traditional jacket and expect vests, pants, and patent embellishments to take over this season.
2. Winter White
Wearing those ivory shades in the winter months has often gotten a bad rap, but now it's chicer than ever to pull out your cozy white knits as soon as the weather starts to cool.
3. Jumpsuits
They first made an appearance in the '70s, and now they're very much back in action and ready for wear during the next cool months. We're talking about jumpsuits, people, and they're surprisingly versatile for almost any occasion.
4. Burgundy
Enough of fall black — it's burgundy's time to shine! With rich hues of deep reds spattered everywhere throughout the fall, you won't be able to resist picking up an item (or a few items) dipped in that irresistible burgundy shade.
